“The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder” by David Grann is a thrilling depiction of a mid-1700s British mission to hijack a Spanish galleon. The plot covers a deadly journey marked by disease, scurvy, and internal conflict that ultimately ends in shipwreck, survival struggles, near mutiny and death. The ordeal culminates in the survivors’ fight to disprove mutiny allegations back in Britain. A must-read for fans of British naval history and survival tales.
